MEDIA ALERT
Starting a NEW tradition in Orange City for the Memorial Holiday!
Monday, May 29th-9am-10am
Veterans Memorial Park
467 S. Volusia Ave, Orange City, FL 32763
Orange City, FL – Kelli Marks, a candidate for Orange City Mayor-2024 will be having a Meet-Up for Memorial Day to honor the Veterans that are currently serving or have served and their families on Monday, May 29, 2023. Please join us for some light refreshments and a commemoration of our veterans.
In addition, Marks Campaign will be flag dusting residents in Orange City for the Memorial Holiday. There will be flags available for pick-up at this Meet-up while supplies last. Marks wanted to provide an opportunity for the community to come together to honor our fallen veterans. “This is a tradition that I have wanted to start for a while. It is going to be awesome to drive around and see the red, white and blue paint the streets”. If you receive a flag and do not want to participate you can just text the number on the postcard attached.
The goal is to remove the postcard and keep your flag posted in honor of the veterans. Then put the flag back out for the other patriotic holidays such as Flag Day, Fourth of July, etc.… Some of the proceeds of this flag dusting project went to support our soldiers in need. The postcards are attached by a seal from Soldiers’ Angels non-profit organization. The mission of Soldiers' Angels is to provide aid, comfort, and resources to the military, veterans, and their families. Their motto is “May No Soldier Go Unloved”.
